Vetbed® is perfect for all life stages –
YOUNGER ANIMALS – Keeping them safe and warm, the special drainage properties ensure they stay dry and warm even in the event of an accident.
OLDER ANIMALS – Enjoy a far higher degree of comfort and mobility with the constant warmth from the heat retaining properties of the fibres.
RECUMBENT ANIMALS – Vets recommend the product to recumbent animals requiring hospitalisation or pre-post operative care.
BIRTH STAGE – Keep the mother and baby warm and dry whilst retaining body heat, and reducing the risk of hypothermia. The texture gives comfort and security and encourages mobility in the younger by aiding grip. Maia (below) gave birth to her 13 Flatcoated Retrievers on Petlife’s Vetbed, after 12 hours’ whelping.
Vetbed’s higher bulk, greater resilience, unique drainage properties and superb heat retention makes it distinct from all other dog beds on the market.
Please Note: You may find that your Vetbed® sheds some fibres at first. This is normal! During manufacture, loose fibres can get caught in the pile and will come loose during use. Some shedding along the cut edges is to be expected too. The shedding will naturally reduce through use and cleaning. It will not affect the thickness of the pile or appearance of your Vetbed® and the fibres are not harmful to animals.

Perfect for my new puppy!

When I ordered the Vetbed, I received various emails to confirm I was happy with what I was ordering and keeping me updated. Delivery was excellent and the warehouse rang me to ensure I had got it OK and it was what I wanted.
My Flatcoated Retriever Maia had 12 hours whelping, delivering 13 puppies. Although we were also using inco pads on top of the Vetbed, it didn’t stop all the leakage, as there was lots of moving around. Following the whelping Maia didn’t want to leave the whelping box so cleaning was difficult. However the Vetbed had done a fabulous job, drawing all the moisture away and so mum and babies were dry and warm. It did a perfect job. And a bonus is that I love the red with white polka dots, mum and puppies look great against it!

I have just purchased yet another piece of Vetbed for one of my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I thought you might be interested to know that the first piece I bought was around 1993. It has been a warm, comfy bed for 3 Cavaliers, 2 Chihuahuas – during the years – and once, for three weeks it provided a warm, safe bed for a weak, orphaned lamb (a pet which subsequently went on to live for many years!)
I could not guess how many times it has been through the washing machine – well over one hundred (and tumble dried when I needed it quickly!) all with no adverse effects. It is still in constant use.

Thank you for producing such an AMAZING product – we’ve just got two new pups and they have been throwing everything they can at your Vetbed (quite literally!). I thought amazingly they’d gone through the night dry, because the Vetbed in their cage was totally dry. I couldn’t BELIEVE it when I lifted the Vetbed and discovered the newspaper underneath was soaking wet! I know you say that Vetbed has amazing drainage properties but that is truly SPECTACULAR!!
This is the first time I’ve used Vetbed with pups – and if it stands up to two enormous Labrador puppies, it will withstand almost anything!!

Excellent product! We use this to line our puppy’s crate and also the bag we use to transport her. Vetbed cleans really easily and is cosy enough for her to snuggle into. She doesn’t tend to nibble it, which is also good! We found that when we cut the larger strip into smaller pieces, it would create some fluff which needed to be pulled off so that she wouldn’t eat it – a wash helps with this!

Bought the Vetbed for my dog Holly. I can’t recommend the Vetbed enough, soft comfortable material and easy to clean. Holly loves her Vetbed, she can’t get to bed quick enough at night and needs to be persuaded to leave her bed in the mornings.

I have an 8 week old standard labradoodle coming home soon he adores vet bedding, his mum and brothers and sisters all have vet bedding currently (he still is with mummy for now) and mum in whelping stages also used vet bedding. Incredible easy to wash and dry – both washing machine and tumble dryer able. When washing the vet bedding just wash it with water though no detergent. Incredibly durable and if anyone knows how messy puppy births can be after 10 pups being born the vet bedding went in the wash, tumble dried and then all clean and back out to the pups again within a couple of hours.

My first piece of vetbed was bought in 1972 – 49 years ago and has been used for 5 labs, a retriever, a Lhasa and 2 shih Tzu’s! Next week it will be used again for a new shih tzu puppy. I cut it in half and it works better for the smaller dogs bur still bares a couple of holes from the first lab’s chewing. Still going strong and if anything washes better now. Now purchasing a pink one which wasn’t available back then.
Wendy –
I have a question please.
Is there any wool in Vetbed?
Sheila –
Good morning Wendy
Thank you for your question. The only Vetbed that contains wool is our (relatively new) Vetbed Wool Blend, the pile of which is 50% polyester and 50% British Wool, with a back coating of a synthetic styrene/butadiene copolymer dispersion. The pile on Vetbed Original and Non Slip is made of 100% polyester.

Fabulous product and equally fabulous customer service! I cannot recommend either highly enough. I had bought a cheaper version elsewhere and it was so awful it was unusable. I would never buy anything other than this again; well worth the money and just what I hoped for

Our vet recommended these beds for our paraplegic kitten after his accident. He loves them and won’t sleep on anything else now! They help keep him clean and dry, and are a real comfort to him. With a puppy pad underneath they are ideal for incontinent animals as the pee is wicked through to the base while the bed stays dry. They wash really well and dry very quickly – they have been invaluable to us so I’m about to order a couple more!
