NEW Vetbed British Wool Blend

Mirubyboxers –
As long term users (too many generations of boxer dogs) of VET BED we have purchased & used a good amount of it over the decades, it has always been our go to recommendation due to warmth, durability, roll size, easy wash & dry properties, so we are pleased to see a step change for the better with the incorporation of a wool / acrylic mix, still with recycled bottled (fleeces work right)!? & British sheeps wool (a much overlooked asset & by-product of sheep farming that needs more diversification such as this.
We jumped at the opportunity to purchase this, based on our own use of british wool bedding, pillows, clip in seasonal duvets, underblankets etc which outperform regular human bedding by means of less perspiration, more instant warmth, better sleep through comfort, …we want the same for our dogs, so vet bed wool mix was a “see it-grab it” moment.
We have chosen to put one down as is & wash the other to get an idea of how they differ (vet bed advice is to wash first & hang dry) our boxer & french bulldog were “all over it” upon placing it down over a pre-existing grotty dog pillow bed, both stretching out full length & appreciating the additional warmth & comfort on offer (an unusual move), due to it being a part animal pelt product we are observing the dogs reactions to it before placing some in their pen, this is because of dogs noses, they seem to know it had some life connection & whilst it does not carry any noticeable animal scent it is of extra interest to our dogs who have hoof chews etc ..so maybe some connection, monitoring it just in case it becomes an object of chew-test interest, a wash with a fleece suitable liquid detergent will soon make it familiar & retain the design properties.
First impressions? UK firm, UK made, UK recycled material, established brand quality, backing to reduce slippage in-situ, all tick the right boxes, dogs seem impressed with the comfort tweaks too! ..certainly helps ground our ADHD boxer (& we’ve had a few) who is notably faster to settle with this in place in her regular spot (all the more impressive as she is undergoing a very prolonged & irregular season).suddenly it is far more favoured than before, grounding & relaxing her far more noticeably than without.
To see our French bulldog male stretch out on this is “unusual” to say the least, …must be good!
